Chapter 1

Fall

Tales of supernatural spiritual beings living in the heavens where God reigned supreme have been told by scholars for centuries.

These beings of light and heavenly flamboyance have lived their lives serving God and mankind and doing His will.

We call them angels, and in Hebrew, they are referred to as Mal’akh.

While the rest of the angels got busy with their tasks, Ramiel, an archangel, stood behind the pillars of heaven, gazing down at a certain young family of three that he had always cherished.

He watched as they came out of a convenience store and headed toward an alley.

He had always watched over this family—and more especially, he adored the little child.

He smiled down from the heavens, and when he saw her father was going to get her a doll as he had promised, he was pleased.

Azaniel, another archangel and predecessor to Archangel Michael, approached him.

“Ramiel, you have been standing there watching these humans as though you were assigned to do so. You should know that we have more heavenly tasks to complete.”

Ramiel turned to him with a smile on his face.

“Azaniel, you have no idea—and that is why you haven’t learned. Just look at these humans, created to live with God’s love in abundance. I have always wondered what it would be like to be human... the freedom to choose between good and evil…”

“And still, they are far from perfect,” Azaniel replied, standing beside him, gazing down at the earth.

Azaniel glanced at him.

“Humans are despicable and they are capable of immense evil. Just look at what they’ve done to the world that was given to them. Look at all the evil and atrocities they commit every single day. It makes me wonder…”—he glanced again—“…why are they still allowed to live, when they could all pay for the evil they do?”

Ramiel was silent. His eyes returned to the family as they moved farther into the alley.

The child’s father had already bought her a doll, and she was happily holding onto it while chattering with her parents.

As they walked, a thug approached from the opposite direction, and Ramiel tensed.

“No,” he whispered, eyes wide in terror.

The thug pulled a gun from his pocket and pointed it at the family.

“Give me all ya money and jewelry!” he yelled.

The man raised his hands while his wife crouched to shield their daughter.

“Please... we don’t have much, but you can take it all. Just spare our lives,” the man pleaded.

Another thug came from behind and frisked the man, taking his wallet.

“Ya watch,” he demanded, pointing his gun.

The man quickly removed his watch and handed it over. The thug then snatched the woman’s necklace.

As they turned to leave, the thugs opened fire, killing them all.

Ramiel was quickly agitated. He tried to intervene, but Azaniel held his hand.

“You cannot interfere, Ramiel.”

Ramiel jerked away from him.

“And watch that murderer go scot-free?!”

“That is destiny, and we can’t do anything about it. Allow nature take it's course.”

Ramiel scowled, gritting his teeth.

“I am not like you, Azaniel. I know you don’t have sympathy for these humans, but I won’t let these evildoers go unpunished!”

"Ramiel, your actions invite divine censure! Should you act rashly, the balance will be broken, and you will be held accountable."

But Ramiel, burning with righteous fury, leapt down from the pillars with the speed of lightning.

“RAMIEL?!” Azaniel called out—but he was gone, plunging toward the earth.

On Earth, the thugs tried to flee in a car. But Ramiel appeared before them, wings spread wide, a glowing golden spear in hand.

The thug behind the wheel screamed, slamming the brakes. They stared in fear at the supernatural being before them.

“Wh-What the hell is that thing?”

“I-I don’t know! How am I supposed to know?!”

Ramiel approached the car. People stopped to watch, many recording the moment on their phones.

With a swift motion, Ramiel tore the car door off. He grabbed the thug by his shirt and dragged him out.

“You have committed a grave crime against God and mankind. You dare take a life you cannot create?!”

“P-Please… we don’t know what you’re talking about…”

“You don’t know?” Ramiel’s brow furrowed.

He threw the thug to the ground and, with fury in his heart, stabbed him through the chest.

The second thug ran, but Ramiel hurled his spear. It tore through the air and pierced him through the back.

Blood spilled, and the thug collapsed.

Ramiel retrieved his spear and, with a mighty flap of his wings, soared into the skies.

Back in Heaven…

Ramiel arrived in the golden palace. Awaiting him were Archangels Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, Metatron, and his brother Cassiel.

Azaniel stood beside Michael, frowning.

“Where did you go, Ramiel?” Michael demanded.

Ramiel dropped his spear.

“I was out, doing the will of God.”

“That’s a lie!” Azaniel barked.

“SILENCE!” Michael roared.

Michael glared at Ramiel.

“You murdered a human? That is not our place. Vengeance is the Lord’s!”

“They killed a family! I couldn't just stand by!”

“You made our existence known. You broke divine law!”

Ramiel chuckled bitterly.

"Why is it wrong that I avenged them?”

Michael unsheathed his sword, but Uriel restrained him.

“Allow me.” Uriel said.

Uriel stepped forward.

“Ramiel… your intentions may be good, but your actions were wrong. You’ve broken the veil.” Uriel said facing Ramiel.

“Stop acting all righteous. You’re not God!” Ramiel thundered.

“Perhaps,” Gabriel finally spoke, “we should let God be the judge.”

Ramiel’s face changed.

“He shall be judged by the Most High,” Uriel confirmed.

“So be it,” said Michael.

|The Throne Room of God|

The celestial palace shone with unmatched beauty. God sat on His throne, surrounded by the 24 elders.

The angels and seraphim circled His throne, singing.

Michael and the archangels entered with Ramiel. He trembled as he neared the throne.

“Dear Father, we adore You,” Michael said, kneeling. The music ceased.

“Ramiel,” God’s voice thundered, “you have stained your hands with blood and defied My will”

Ramiel raised his eyes.

“Forgive me, Father. I could not bear to watch that innocent child die.”

“It is not your place! I gave humans free will!”

“And yet You watch them destroy each other. The evil flourish while the good perish. Is that justice?!” Ramiel responded.

Gasps filled the room.

“You allow the devil to claim them, and when they fail, You toss them into fire. How is that fair?!”

“You dare question God!” Michael roared.

“Enough,” said Raguel.

God’s gaze deepened.

"Ramiel, though driven by compassion, you defied My will and feel no regret. Punishment shall be your lot."

Ramiel’s breath caught.

“You shall live as a human. You shall feel pain, sorrow, disappointment. You will walk among them until you find a human willing to give their soul for you.”

Ramiel screamed.

“No! Father, please!”

“Cut off his wings.”

Michael approached, sword drawn. Angels restrained Ramiel.

“Michael! We are brothers! Don’t do this!!”

“It is God’s will.”

With a swift strike, Michael severed his wings.

Ramiel fell.

He plunged toward Earth, screaming. His wings gone, stripped of grace. He saw Cassiel, watching with sadness.

With a thunderous crash, he landed—creating a massive crater.

|Earth – A Countryside Road|

Local farmers returning from the city spotted a glowing figure falling from the sky.

They stopped, stunned.

A naked man lay unconscious on the ground.

“Did he fall from the sky?” one whispered.

" How could he?" A lady responded in shock.

"Did a plane crash around?" A woman muttered under her breath in confusion.

“He’s… beautiful.” A young lady marveled.

The wind howled. Rain approached.

"What should we do Bruce?" An old lady asked in fear and confusion.

“Let’s get him to a hospital,” Bruce said, removing his jacket and placing it over the man.

They lifted him from the ground, boarded a taxi and drove off to a nearby hospital.
